KIM SIMMONS President

Since 1975 Kim Simmons has held leadership roles in a wide variety of organizational settings always challenging the status quo, encouraging and helping people to find new and innovative ways to achieve superior results. Kim has a passion for asking “why” and is skilled at supporting and facilitating teams during the development and implementation of improvement initiatives. Kim ’s intuition and questioning style help individuals and teams confront the issues that stand in the way of common understanding, agreement and commitment to action.
As a Mining Engineer, a Safety Manager and Human Resource Manager in the mining industry Kim worked to create systems and processes that truly engaged each person in owning and creating the conditions that produced success. Kim is a firm believer in the power of collaboration and has guided the development and implementation of award winning safety programs, leadership and team development frameworks, and employee engagement processes that have consistently delivered results exceeding industry standards.
In 2005, following 10 years as Senior Partner and President of STS International, Inc. Kim formed Whitewater Strategies, Inc. to explore today’s business whitewater in new and creative ways. Unique learning forums such as WhiteWater Teams, and The Phoenix Council (an executive learning forum) provide clients, partners and leaders opportunities to explore issues in distinctive, experiential and relevant ways. His client history includes: Valero Energy Resources, Becton Dickinson, Dannon, MasterFoods (M&M Mars), Bush Brothers, MAPCO, Williams Communications, Amoco, Premier Inc.
Today, he continues to stimulate thinking, learning and action through the design and delivery of unique learning experiences that go beyond the traditional lecture settings. Kim is fluent in Spanish, spending two years in Argentina and recently supporting leadership and team design with a client in Puerto Rico . Kim’s international experience, his knowledge of business and his love of music all contribute to his creativity and his ability to help others succeed. |
